Zoya: Bubbly Collection is a Rainbow of Awesome!

Heya Guys!!

Recently I found the Zoya Bubbly Collection on sale, and just couldn't resist picking it up. I don't normally pick up entire collections, I am more of a pick and choose what appeals to me, but every polish in this collection just looked so pretty, that I could justify owning the entire thing. I wasn't sure which colour to wear first, so after some major indecision,  I settled on all of them!

Zoya-Bubbly-Collection-Lily-Anna-Nail-Stamping

Zoya-Bubbly-Collection-Lily-Anna-Nail-Stamping

To get this look, I started with a base of all the colours in the collection, Jesy (orange) , Harper (pink), Alma (yellow) , Staasi (green), Muse (blue), and Binx (purple/pink). Starting at my thumb (not shown) I painted half the nail in a colour, overlapping just a bit, then painting the second colour on the other half of the nail, and again overlapping a bit. I went across on all my nails like this, to form a gradient rainbow across all my fingers.  I did 2 coats across all my nails. Once that was dry, I stamped my middle and ring fingers with Lily Anna Plate 13 in Cult Nails Nevermore, and used ILNP Pi-Ya-No (the black and white glitter) on my remaining nails.  I then top coated with HK Girl and I was done!

I really adore how this came out, not only was it super easy to do, thanks to the jelly formula of the bubbly collection which allowed me to just use the polish brush for the gradient, but the stamping also allowed me to have a complicated tape mani look, without all the work! I can already see tons of looks with this collection, and honestly can't wait to try them all out. I think Zoya really hit it out of the park with this collection, and if you don't own any or all of them, you certainly should! The awesome jelly formula gives endless possibilities to nail art!

Alright guys and gals I think that covers it for one day! Has anyone else picked this collection up yet? Which one is your favourite!? I thought Muse would be mine, hands down, but Binx really snuck up on me! Till next time Kittens! <3

Red Coat Tuesday: Cult Nails Ay Poppy!

Hey Guys!

Today's #RedCoatTuesday look, is a fun tropical look, using Cult Nails Ay Poppy! Ay Poppy has been sitting in my untrieds for a while now, and so this was the perfect excuse to use it! It is already super late in the day, so let's get right to it tonight!

Ay Poppy! is a orange leaning red creme polish, that is super creamy, and goes on beautifully in 2 easy coats. I really love that while it is still red, it is anything but a traditional red. The orange side of it, gives it a little extra something, and makes it a unique polish.

I decided to try my hand for the first time at the leadlight technique, if you haven't heard what that is yet, then go take a look at this and although I think there is plenty of room for improvement, I still really love how this came out, and bonus, it is really easy to do. Much faster then making stamping decals on a sandwich bag! I started with a base on my middle and ring fingers, with Whiteout by Rica. It is a one coat easy application white, that is also stamps amazingly well. Once that was dry, I stamped on the flower image with Pueen Encore SE04B in Cult Nails Nevermore, at this point I top coated, since I have seen the black smearing when colouring it in some cases. Once it was dry to the touch, I got out a small nail art bush and a small dotting tool, and filled in the flowers with L’Oréal Paris Créme de Mint (greenL’Oréal Paris Jolly Lolly (red)L’Oréal Paris Bananarama Love (yellow)  and L’Oréal Paris Mango Mama (orange)  Again, even though these didn't turn out perfect I am still really proud of how well my first try went, and I will certainly be doing this again in the future.

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for one day. Has anyone else done the leadlight technique? How did it go!? Let me know in the comments! Till next time Kittens! <3

Picture Polish Totes: Instagram Collab!

Hey Guys!

A Few weeks ago I participated in a really cool collab on instagram, to help celebrate Autumn reaching 10k followers! Basically, a bunch of us got together and recreated some of her previous nail looks.

Picture-Polish-Totes-Models-Own-Beach-Bag-Nail-Art

Picture-Polish-Totes-Models-Own-Beach-Bag-Nail-Art

Picture-Polish-Totes-Models-Own-Beach-Bag-Nail-Art

In case you are curious, I did a recreation of  this design. I had so much fun being a part of this with all the amazingly talented ladies in this collab, and it was awesome that I could help Autumn celebrate reaching 10k! She is crazy talented, and if you aren't following her then you totally should be!  As a side note, you may notice my images are a bit different than normal, well, we needed a picture with her hand pose ,as well as a couple with our own  poses, since I was on my way out the door to go camping, I only had these images, and by the time I got back, my nails were in no condition to be taking pictures of! :P

To get this look, I started with a base of OPI Glints of Glinda, sadly, what I had been wearing previously had stained my nails, so I couldn't go bare like Autumn did, so I settled for Glints of Glinda, since it matches my skin tone perfectly, and looks nude on me, especially at 1 coat. Once that was dry, I stamped the leopard print in Picture Polish Totes (sorry! I honestly don't' remember the plate, I think it was a MoYou London Pro Plate, but I am not 100%) I filled in some of the leopard spots using a nail art brush with Models Own Shades (which currently is my favourite neon pink) I then taped off the bottom half of my nail and filled in the top with Models Own Shades.

I really love how this came out, and I ended up wearing it for my entire camping trip. I am so, so glad I got to be a part of this collab, and really hope to do more of these in the future!

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today! Have any of you done a collab previously? Did you have as much fun as I did? It was my first collab on instagram, and I seriously think I need to seek out more of these! Til next time Kittens! <3

Load Lacquer: Watermelon for Red Coat Tuesday!

Hiya Guys!

It is once again #RedCoatTuesday ! and you all know what that means! Red nails! I used Load Lacquer Watermelon for my red look, and the polish name is what inspired today's nails!

First things first, I know they aren't very PLL as far as sultry goes, but it is summer, and a lot of my looks thus far have leaned toward fall/winter. I really wanted to get some red nails in that were summer appropriate, and when I picked up Loaded Lacquer Watermelon, it was a done deal!

To get this look, I started with a base of Loaded Lacquer Watermelon on my thumb (not shown) pointer, and pinky fingers, and a base of OPI Jade is the New Black on my middle and ring fingers. Once the green fingers were dry to the touch, I got out a make-up sponge and sponged OPI Jade is the New Black, Zoya Josie and Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet onto those nails. I free-handed the tip of my thumb, middle and pinky fingers using Jade is the New Black, and used a white stripping polish to put in the white stripe along the green tip. I used a dotting tool with Cult Nails Nevermore to put in the seeds. I then placed the watermelon fimo pieces using an orange wood stick and some topcoat.

I am really pleased with how these came out. If you have been here a while you know I struggle a bit with freehand, so to be able to see how much my skills have improved in the last year, is just astounding to me, and I can't wait to see the progress another year from now.

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers most of it for today. I hope that you all are having an awesome sauce Tuesday, don't forget to indulge on Pretty Little Liars tonight, and also to check out all the other awesome Red Coat Tuesday looks! Till next time Kittens! <3

Hey Guys!

A stunning marigold linear holo polish, that is incredibly unique, among my vast collection., and once I had it on, I couldn't help but add a little art to show it off, which is what I have for you guys today.

I really adore how this came out, and the holo in this polish is so strong, that it shows it rainbow awesome off even indoors, under non friendly holo lights! This was one of those looks, that at the beginning I had no idea where it would go, I simply started with the intent to swatch, and then of course, couldn't leave well enough alone, and this was the end result.

To get this look, I started with my base of Cirque Colors Chrysopoeia. Once that was dry, I stamped with MoYou London Pro Plate 06 in Mundo De Unas Purple #21 on my middle and ring fingers. I then added some studs to my thumb, pointer and pinky fingers, that were purchased from Born Pretty Store. I love how easy this was to create, and how great the pay off is in terms of adorable!

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today, again if you haven't entered into the most awesome of giveaways yet, you should do that now , like seriously, right now! You don't want to miss out on your chance to win 200 polishes! I really hope everyone had a great weekend. Today is actually my moms birthday and so the family and I are going to one of those cheesy dinner theatres, the ones with dinner and a musical production. I think it will be a lot of fun, even if a bit dorky, so I am looking forward to it. Anyway, till next time Kittens! <3

#RedCoatTuesday: OPI Congeniality is my Middle Name Sans the Shimmer!?

Heya Guys!

It's Tuesday, and you all know what that means! It is #RedCoatTuesday! This weeks nails feature OPI Congeniality is my Middle Name, from the 2011 Miss Universe Collection.

Before I get into the details of this look, I should mention that, OPI Congeniality is my Middle Name is  a berry polish, with a gorgeous purple shimmer throughout it, and my images, as you may have noticed, is a berry polish, sans a pretty purple shimmer. Here's why: My bottle still has it's shimmer, but it had all sunk to the bottom, thinking that the polish I grabbed was in fact another polish, I didn't notice that I had the wrong polish, since when I grabbed this, it looked like the berry jelly polish I was after.  I proceeded to put it on my nails, and do my nails, and when I was finished, I noticed I had in fact not only grabbed the wrong polish, but that I had not mixed it up at all, so that none of that pretty shimmer ended up on my nails. So, that is why my Congeniality is my Middle Name looks weird. I decided to go ahead and share with you guys, since I can't be the only one to ever have done this, and also because I was going for this look anyway, so even though I used the wrong polish, it turned out exactly as planned!

To get this look I started with a base of OPI Congeniality is my Middle Name. Once that was dry, I stamped my pointer and ring fingers with MoYou London Bridal Plate 07 in Konad white. I then grabbed some Nail Vinyls and put the white tips on in Cult Nails Tempest. I then top coated everything with KBShimmer Clearly on Top and I was done!

Although this look is more sophisticated then sultry, I think it may be one of my favourites to date of the Red Coat Tuesday series, and after all, aren't our liars pretty sophisticated anyway!? Speaking of the liars, is anyone else super excited for tonight's episode!? I felt like the season had a bit of a meh start, but it is really starting picking up, last weeks ending really had me on the edge of my seat..thinking "what the hell!?..."  so I am pretty stoked about tonight's episode to say the least.

Alright guys and gals, I think that is all for today. I hope everyone is having an awesome sauce Tuesday. Has anyone else had the polish mix up fail I had this week!? I seriously can't be the only one that has done this! :P Anyway, till next time Kittens! <3

Serum No 5: Glowin' of Eden is so Awesome Blossom Together!

Hiya Guys!

Today I have for you a super adorable, spring like mani, using some Serum No5 polishes. These were released in the spring, but I haven't worn them till now, and even if it is a bit out of season, I am still loving these polishes. I used Glowin' Of Eden and Awesome Blossom in today's post.

And of course! the glow shot!

Serum-No-5-Glowin-Of-Eden-Awesome-Blossom-Swatch-Vivid-Lacquer-Nail-Stampin

First, let me start off by saying, I had a little fail with these nails, and at first I wasn't going to share these with you guys, but then I remembered that I want this blog to document it all. The good, the bad, and downright terrible, so posted they were! Now, let me explain what happened,  the stamp transferred cleanly, however, since it was a scribble like design, the tips look like it didn't, since those were the tops of the hearts that went off the tip of the nail so it ended up just looking a bit messy, I should have lined the stamp up a bit better, but I learned, and will know better for next time. When you are not up close you can't tell at all, so even with that small bit of fail on my part, I still love, love how this turned out, not to mention it is so fun in the dark!

To get this look, I started with a base of Glowin of Eden on all my fingers. It was a bit sheer, at least for me, perhaps since my nails are longer, and to get rid of all VNL I ended up with 4 thin coats, it wasn't a huge issue, but something I thought I would note. I think next time I use this polish, I will start with a white base. Once that was dry, I taped my thumb (not shown) pointer, and pinky fingers and painted Awesome Blossom onto the tips. I sponged on in a checkered pattern Glowin' Of Eden and Awesome Blossom onto my middle and ring fingers, and then stamped over that in Vivid Lacquer plate VL 009. I then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on top and voila!  glowy nails!

Overall, despite my slight stamping fail, which in hindsight I should have fixed, I still really adore this look, and can see myself wearing these glow polishes over and over again. Plus, charging them up and playing with them in the dark is so much fun! :P I am such a dork sometimes! Ha Ha!

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today, I hope everyone is having a great week. I know, I missed Red Coat Tuesday again this week, but between school and general summer chaos I just lost track of time, and they didn't get done. I did watch the episode though, and the thing I have been hoping would happen, happened!. I have so much Caleb love it is ridiculous, I can't help it, his awesome makes my heart happy! Anyway, till next time Kittens! <3

Happy 4th of July from Canada!

Hi Guys!

Happy 4th of July to all my American lovelies!!  I am not American, however the boyfriend is, he is from Nebraska in case anyone was curious, so I thought it would be fun to do an Independence Day mani for him, and of course I had to share with all of you!

I am a bit ridiculously proud of how this came out, mostly cause I free handed the cupcake, and if you have been around here a while you know that I am not the best at freehand, so when it comes out successful I get a bit over excited.

To get this look I started with a base of Essie Butler Please on my pointer. OPI Big Apple Red on my middle and pinky fingers, and Cult Nails Tempest on my thumb (not shown) and ring finger. Once that was dry, I took OPI Big Apple Red and painted the tip of my ring finger and thumb, while that was drying, I took a few different sized dotting tools, and using a mix of all 3 polishes, did the descending dots on my pointer, middle and ring finger.  Once my thumb and ring finger were mostly dry to the touch, I took a stripping polish and painted on the white stripes over the red tip, then with a dotting tool I did the top of the cupcake in Essie Butler Please, I also dabbed on 1 coat of Laquerlicious At The Lake over Butler Please to add a bit of sparkle. The red dot on the top of the cupcake is done in Big Apple Red. I then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top and my super cute 4th of July mani was done!

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today. I really hope you all like my 4th of July nails! Even though it isn't a holiday here in Canadaland I really hope everyone who does celebrate the holiday has a great one! Till next time kittens! < 3

#RedCoatTuesday and Canada Day in One!

Heya Guys!

My #RedCoatTuesday mani is a bit unique today, since today is also Canada Day, and since I am Canadian I couldn't not do some Canadian themed nails! Thankfully this works out perfectly since our flag colours are red and white!

OPI-OPI-Red-Canada-Day-Nail-Art-Red-Coat-Tuesday-Nails

OPI-OPI-Red-Canada-Day-Nail-Art-Red-Coat-Tuesday-Nails

First, let's start with, I really, really love how these came out! Last year, I was just starting to really dabble into nail art, and let's just say, what I planned in my head did NOT translate onto my nail! :P so this feels like a bit of an achievement since what I saw on my head did translate awesomely onto my nails! It also had the added benefit of working so well with Red Coat Tuesday!

To get this look I started with a base of OPI: OPI Red on my thumb (not shown) pointer, and ring fingers and a base of Cult Nails Tempest on my middle and ring fingers. I top coated all my nails with quick dry top coat at this point, since I was going to be stamping/taping. Once they were dry, I stamped over my middle and ring finger using BM 004 in Mundo De Unas Red 9 and used  straight Nail Vinyls for my ring finger and painted over the red base in Tempest. I then top coated a second time and voila Red Coat Tuesday Canada Day Nails! That is seriously a mouth full! :P

Even though this isn't a very sultry look for PLL, They are red, and it is Canada Day, and I think they will be perfect for tonight's episode, well they will work at any rate! :P Speaking of PLL, I read in an online interview that Caleb will be coming back this season, which excites me to no end! I really hope that proves to be true! Does anyone else miss Caleb as much as I do!?

Alright guys and gals, I think that covers it for today.   I will mention here quick before I go, why I wasn't around all last week. I ended up going on a hastily planned camping trip last week for the Canadian holiday, and just got back Sunday night. I wanted to queue up a couples posts in my absense, but alas hastily planned camping trips keep you really busy before you leave so it didn't get done. I hope you all can forgive me, cause I had a blast! anyway, Happy Canada Day to all you Canadians out there, and to everyone else Happy PLL Day! Till next time Kittens! <3

P.S. Don't forget to check out all the other awesome Red Coat Tuesday Mani's!
